Director General

After 12 years as a Sapper officer in the British Army, Alan moved into financial services, joining NatWest as a corporate banker and then moving through roles in the Group centre, ultimately holding responsibility for the construction of the Group's UK strategy.

Colin Kerr

Director of Finance

Colin Kerr joined the Commission as Finance Director in May 2011. Having started his career with ten years in Deloittes, he has spent most of his career as a finance director, in both the commercial and public sectors, including ten years in the NHS.

Stephen Luckhurst

Director of Human Resources

Stephen was appointed Director of Human Resources in July 2011. He was previously Group Human Resources Director at Defence Technology company QinetiQ prior to which he led HR teams in the Ministry of Defence.

Brian Davidson MBE

Director of Technical Services

Brian Davidson has been the Director of Technical Services since 2006. Educated at
Kirkcudbright Academy and Dumfries College of Technology he joined the Commonwealth War Graves Commission in 1983 as a Works Supervisor in NEA.

Gillian Stedman

Director Legal Services

Gillian came into the legal profession as a solicitor after obtaining a Bachelor of Laws from Leeds University. She joined the Commission after working in private practice and the voluntary sector in London.
