Alan Pateman-Jones
Director General
After 12 years as a Sapper officer in the British Army, Alan
moved into financial services, joining NatWest as a corporate
banker and then moving through roles in the Group centre,
ultimately holding responsibility for the construction of the
Group's UK strategy.
He then moved into professional services, joining Coopers &
Lybrand as a consultant specialising in banking strategy and
performance improvement. He was approached by Ernst &
Young, joining them and moving through to partner in the Retail
Banking consulting business. Subsequently Alan was approached
by LloydsTSB, where he held roles as Chairman and CEO of Wealth
Management, Group Customer Director and Managing Director Customer
Offers.
Alan spent seventeen years in senior roles in the financial
services sector, both in large banks and international professional
services businesses, finally as Managing Partner of the FS business
for Ernst & Young in Northern Europe, Middle East, India and
Africa. In March 2009 Alan withdrew from the Partnership in order
to take on very different challenges.
