Who's who

Alan Pateman-Jones

Director General

After 12 years as a Sapper officer in the British Army, Alan moved into financial services, joining NatWest as a corporate banker and then moving through roles in the Group centre, ultimately holding responsibility for the construction of the Group's UK strategy.

He then moved into professional services, joining Coopers & Lybrand as a consultant specialising in banking strategy and performance improvement.  He was approached by Ernst & Young, joining them and moving through to partner in the Retail Banking consulting business.  Subsequently Alan was approached by LloydsTSB, where he held roles as Chairman and CEO of Wealth Management, Group Customer Director and Managing Director Customer Offers.

Alan spent seventeen years in senior roles in the financial services sector, both in large banks and international professional services businesses, finally as Managing Partner of the FS business for Ernst & Young in Northern Europe, Middle East, India and Africa. In March 2009 Alan withdrew from the Partnership in order to take on very different challenges.
