Annual Parade and Service, Harrogate

Time: 3 - 5 pm

On Sunday 10th September 2017 at 3pm the Annual Parade and Service will be held at Stonefall Cemetery, Harrogate to commemorate the young airmen who died in the offences during World War II. A large number died in Harrogate General Hospital and of the 1017 graves, 666 are Canadians, 224 are from the UK and the rest is made up of Australians, New Zealanders, Russians and Germans. The majority were based at airfields within Yorkshire with many coming from the main airfield at RAF Linton on Ouse.
Organised by the RAF Association, the service has been carried out over the last sixty five years on behalf of the RAF. A number of local VIPs will be in attendance as well as representatives from RAF stations and other organisations. Local Air Cadets and a number of Standards will also be on parade. After the Parade & Service a "Brew for the Few" (Tea & Coffee) will be held at the Cemetery to help raise much needed funds for the WINGS Appeal (the RAF Association Charity), to help support veterans and serving RAF personnel. All members of the general public are welcome to attend.
