MORLEY (ST. MARY IN THE WOOD) CONGREGATIONAL CHAPELYARD

The church within the chapelyard has been severely damaged by fire and demolition has been planned. The memorial to casualty CW FOSTER, a 6' Granite Column, is well away from the damaged church however, access is denied and the site is closed to the public.

MORLANCOURT BRITISH CEMETERY NO.2

ST. SYMPHORIEN MILITARY CEMETERY

As a result of heavy storm weather, a number of trees at St. Symphorien Military Cemetery have collapsed and have caused damage to headstones. The affected areas have been closed off and the disabled entrance at the rear of the cemetery is inaccessible at the moment. Our tree team is currently on site to remove all damaged trees and branches and to ensure the cemetery is made safe for visitors.

ARRAS MEMORIAL

Restoration will be undertaken on panel B10 until mid-February 2015. The panel will still be accessible but with some difficulties. Please excuse us for any inconvenience.

NEUVE-CHAPELLE MEMORIAL

Road works will be carried out on the RD947 adjacent to the Indian Memoral at Neuve Chapelle. It has been indicated that this work will continue, in phases, until mid-January 2015. Access and parking will be maintained during this period, but please exercise caution when visiting the Memorial.

MORLANCOURT BRITISH CEMETERY NO.1

Please be informed that the access path has a deep hole - so be careful when you are walking as it is very dangerous. This problem should be fixed as soon as possible. All access to the cemetery is currently difficult due to weather conditions. The problem will be fixed as soon as possible. Please excuse us for the inconvenience.

CAESTRE MILITARY CEMETERY

The access to this cemetery has become very difficult, due to road works. The work will be ongoing for the next 3 months or more.

RANCOURT MILITARY CEMETERY

Works will start on 11 December 2014 to re-build walls at the cemetery. For the duration of works - 11 weeks - some disruption will be inevitable for short periods during the initial demolition but the site will be accessible for the public at all times.

New Zealand Memorial, Messines

At the request of the New Zealand government the centre section of the memorial grounds at the New Zealand Memorial in Messines is being redesigned with the intention of opening up the view to the battlefield and creating a better area for ceremonies. There will be some disruption for visitors whilst this work is being carried out for which we apologise. Work is due to be completed by March 2015.
