Brookwood Military Cemetery

On Saturday 13 July 2013, from 10.00 to 16.00 hours, Brookwood Military Cemetery will host the Brookwood Open Day. Go to our News & Events page for more information on Brookwood Open Day.

Visitors to Soissons Memorial are advised that general maintenance and panel replacement is currently being carried out at the site. The work is expected to be completed by the end of June 2013. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused during this period of essential maintenance.

Lille Southern Cemetery

Some renovation work going on: Plot V 2; hedge been removed Plot V 1; Under complete renovation, people have access but will walk on soil Plot J 1; Block planting due to the shady area (trial) Starting date may 2013, date of completion October 2013. Wheelchair access to this cemetery is possible with some difficulty. Locre No. 10 Cemetery

Road works are currently being carried out in front of the cemetery. During the works, visiting the site is only possible by walking down from either Loker or Dranouter and access to the cemetery might at times be difficult. For the moment the cemetery is not accessible for wheelchair users.

Helles Memorial

Due to panel replacement to the obelisk, the top part of the memorial will be shut to visitors for safety reasons.There will be a wooden barrier erected with a locked gate. The restriction will commence on 6th May 2013 and continue Approx 8 weeks. There will regular updates posted on the website. Access can be made by ringing the bell on the gate or telephoning one of the numbers displayed on the gate and a member of staff will allow access and accompany the visitor to the panel they wish to see and photograph.

Reninghelst Churchyard Extension

Major renovation works have started at Reninghelst Churchyard Extension. The border plants and the headstones have been removed. Demolishing and rebuilding of the boundary walls will commence beginning of June. This project is scheduled to be finished end of September. The cemetery will be closed to the public during this period. This will be followed by headstone renovation work and by replanting of the border.

Halifax Memorial

The twenty-three bronze panels of the Halifax Memorial will be removed in June 2013 in order to be properly refinished and will be re-installed before Remembrance Day.

Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial

Work will commence on Monday 15 April 2013 to replace the name panels at bay 22 of the Menin Gate Memorial. Also re-inpainting of the names on the panels has started. During the works access to the panels of bay 22 might be difficult. However, during working hours, and if feasible, the public will be allowed closer access to an inscription on these panels, on request to the foreman on site. The work is expected to be completed by the end of July 2013.

Slobozia Military Cemetery

Slobozia Military Cemetery in Romania is locked and the key has to be collected from a funeral parlour at the end of the street (Strada Eternitatii).

Argenta Gap War Cemetery

The municipality of Argenta has made some alterations to the local road system. Argenta Gap Cemetery should now be accessed by the revised directions shown in the 'Latest Cemetery Information' section.
