BELGIUM - BRANDHOEK NEW MILITARY CEMETERY

Major road works are currently being carried outside the cemetery; access may be restricted at times. Visitors will be able to access the cemetery on foot, the nearest car park is at Brandhoek Military Cemetery it is a short walk to the cemetery. The work is scheduled to be completed at the beginning of May 2015.

FRANCE - NINTH AVENUE CEMETERY, HAISNES

Essential work will be carried out on the Cross of Sacrifice; access will not be restricted to the public except during the delivery of the larger stone elements. The works starts 23rd March March and will last until May 2015.

UNITED KINGDOM - PEMBROKE MILITARY CEMETERY

Access to the cemetery has changed due to current road works. If you are travelling by car, the directions are as follows: 1) Vehicles coming from the direction of St Paul’s bay have no difficulties as the road going up to St Julian’s or St Andrews is closed and the only entry is through Triq Adrian Dingli where the cemetery is located. 2) Vehicles coming from the direction of St Julian’s or St Andrews cannot enter from the right hand side of Triq Adrian Dingli as the road for the time being (until the road works are finished) is one way. Keep on going down and turn right to enter from the old road entrance of the White rocks complex.

HAREFIELD (ST. MARY'S) CHURCHYARD

Horticultural renovation will be taking place until mid-April 2015. Please use the church gate during this time, as there will be no access through the Commission plot until renovation work is completed. We apologise for any inconvenience this might cause visitors.

BERGEN (MOLLENDAL) CHURCH CEMETERY

Major horticultural renovations are now underway at Bergen (Mollendal) Church Cemetery. Whilst visitors will be able to access the plot within the cemetery, the area will not be to the usual CWGC standard until the renovations are completed at the end of August. All the planting and soil from the borders will be removed and the area regularly sprayed with herbicide to eradicate ground elder and couch grass. Replacement turf will be laid in July and the borders replanted in late August. The work on the plot is being carried out on behalf of the CWGC by Gravplassmyndigheten i Bergen, the local cemetery authority, and we are extremely grateful for their assistance in this work.

CASSINO WAR CEMETERY

The local authorities have temporarily removed the CWGC directional signs to the cemetery due to a major road restructuring project. A google map to the cemetery is available in the “Find a Cemetery” section of this webpage. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

LONE PINE MEMORIAL

Construction has commenced to erect the grandstands and all the related infrastructure for Anzac day. Visitors will still be able to visit Lone Pine and all grave markers remain accessible but are advised to take care to avoid areas of construction.

RUE-DU-BACQUEROT NO.1 MILITARY CEMETERY, LAVENTIE

MORLEY (ST. MARY IN THE WOOD) CONGREGATIONAL CHAPELYARD

The church within the chapelyard has been severely damaged by fire and demolition has been planned. The memorial to casualty CW FOSTER, a 6' Granite Column, is well away from the damaged church however, access is denied and the site is closed to the public.
