JERUSALEM WAR CEMETERY

Due to recent serious problems concerning the irrigation system, the quality of the turf has been affected resulting in large dry patches which continues to impact on horticultural work at present.

BELGIUM - BRANDHOEK NEW MILITARY CEMETERY

Major road works are currently being carried out in the street where the cemetery is situated.  Visitors are able to drive up to the cemetery but it might at times be difficult.  Visitors can however easily get to the cemetery on foot.  From the car park at Brandhoek Military Cemetery it is a short walk to the cemetery. The work should be finished end of August 2015.

GREECE - SUDA BAY WAR CEMETERY

Major renovation of the turf and shrubbery will begin in this site from July
15th and run into October. Visitor access to the cemetery will not be possible
on Wednesday 2nd September, or on Friday 4th September due to pesticide application. 

Access will be possible throughout all other dates during the renovations;
however visitors are advised that there may be some disruption in certain
areas.

 




 

ITALY - GRANEZZA BRITISH CEMETERY

Major renovations works on the cemetery boundary wall are about to commence and will be completed by the the end of August. Visitors are advised that access may be difficult at times, and to access the cemetery on foot.

BELGIUM - SCHOONSELHOF CEMETERY

Please note that major renovation works are taking place at this cemetery. Over 700 headstones are being replaced and a further 800 will be realigned. The works are starting in plot 5 and will then continue with plots 4, 3 and two to finish with plot 1. Please be aware that during the works it might be difficult to access certain graves. We expect the works to be finished by the end of August 2015. The horticulture in this cemetery will be restored by November 2015. KENYA - NAIROBI WAR CEMETERY

Please note that there have been reported attacks in the vicinity of the cemetery therefore all visitors are strongly advised to take care and not carry any valuables when visiting the site.  Visitors are strongly advised not to walk along the 1km access track to the cemetery from the main road but should travel to the cemetery entrance by vehicle only.

ITALY - BOLSENA WAR CEMETERY

Visitors are advised that owing to a problem with our water source, the cemetery is very dry and brown at the moment and is likely to be so for the remainder of the summer.

TURKEY - LONE PINE CEMETERY

The local authorities are  currently carrying out road resurfacing (2nd Ridge Road) on the peninsular. As a result access to the site will not be possible.
 
In addition removal of grandstands will finish on 24th August.  During this time the cemetery will be accessible but visitors should be aware that this construction will be taking place and it will have an effect on their visit. Visitors should avoid entering any of the areas where construction is taking place and respect the health & safety warning signs.

TURKEY - CHUNUK BAIR NEW ZEALAND MEMORIAL

The local authorities are  currently carrying out road resurfacing (2nd Ridge Road) on the peninsular. As a result access to the site will not be possible.
 
In addition construction of grandstands for 4000 seats will commence at the beginning of July in preparation for the commemorative event on the 8th August. The stands will be removed by the end of August.
