On 16 September  two special ceremonies will take place at this site.  In the morning at 10.30hrs a rededication service will take place for  Sapper H Sherwood who is now known to be buried in plot 23, row C, grave 19 at Arnhem (Oosterbeek) War Cemetery. Sapper Sherwood was previously commemorated by name on the Groesbeek Memorial.

On 15 September at 1000hrs a rededication service will take place in Leeuwarden Northern General Cemetery for the crew of Wellington R 1397 which crashed on 25 July 1941 in the province of Friesland after a successful return from a mission above Germany.

An Unknown Australian Soldier, who died during fierce fighting near Kupang on the Indonesian Island of West Timor during World War Two, will be reburied with full military honours at the CWGC Ambon War Cemetery on 10 September. The service will take place at 9 am local time.

100 year-old veteran, George Charles Oliver, travelled to ‎CWGC Bayeux War Cemetery in Normandy to visit the grave of his brother-in-law, Private Cecil John Hazell, who lost his life in the Second World War.
