The Commonwealth War Graves Commission and LSE Remembrance Lecture.

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission and LSE Remembrance Lecture will be held in LSE's Hong Kong Theatre, Clement House on 7 November from 6.30-8pm.

Professor Sir Hew Strachan, Chichele Professor of the History of War at the University of Oxford, will discuss 'Commemorating the First World War: A Hundred Years On'

The lecture is free and open to all, with no ticket required but spaces are limited. Entry is on a first come, first served basis.

Synopsis: Commemoration is a dialogue between the present and the past. Anniversaries reflect contemporary concerns as much as the events they mark. The centenary of the First World War is an opportunity to reflect on the history of remembrance and its meaning today.
