CWGC Museum Officially Opened

11 December 2013

On Thursday 11 December, His Royal Highness The Duke of Kent, President of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission(CWGC) inaugurated a new museum at the CWGC's refurbished headquarters.

The small museum is now open to the public and the items on display - including a passport issued to King George V for his pilgrimage to the war cemeteries of France and Belgium in 1922 - highlight the CWGC's history and origins.  There are additional facilities, including interactive screens through which visitors can access the CWGC's casualty records.

The museum is open to the public Monday to Friday, 10am-noon and 2pm-4pm.  Our building is wheelchair accessible and all visitors are asked to sign in to reception upon arrival.  Parties larger than 5 are asked to ring prior to visiting.  Parking and catering facilities are not available onsite, but can be found in Maidenhead town centre.  Our address is 2 Marlow Road, Maidenhead, SL6 7DX and please contact our Enquiries Team with all queries on +44 (0)1628 507200.
