Pink Floyd's Roger Waters Unveils Memorial to his Father

Seventy years to the day after his father was killed during
fighting in Italy, Roger Waters has established a memorial to his
father at the town of Aprilia, south of Rome, in Italy.

Lieutenant Eric Waters was serving with the 8th Battalion,
Royal Fusiliers, when he was killed during a German counter attack
on 18 February 1944. He has no known grave, but is commemorated by
the Commission on Panel 5 of the Cassino Memorial.
Last year, Mr Waters, who was only a baby when his father died,
travelled to Monte Cassino to visit the cemetery for the first
