CWGC welcomes new Commissioner

Air Marshal David Walker CB CBE, AFC, MA, RAF (Retd) joins the CWGC following the departure of Air Chief Marshal Sir Joe French on the completion of his term in office.
David Walker left the RAF in July 2013 after a career spanning 34 years. He flew Harriers in Germany, the Balkans, and Belize and the F-18 Hornet with the US Navy. In the RAF he was privileged to be the Assistant Chief of the Air Staff and to command No 1 (Fighter) Squadron, RAF Cottesmore, and No 1 Group of the RAF's frontline, before completing his service as the Deputy Commander of NATO's Air Command, then in his final appointment the NATO Joint Forces Command.
Since leaving the RAF he has pursued his lifelong interests in fishing and military history and in addition to his appointment with the CWGC, he is the National President of the Royal British Legion.
