CWGC welcomes new Vice Chairman

The CWGC is delighted to welcome Sir Tim Laurence as our new Vice Chairman.

Sir Tim Laurence joined the Commonwealth War Graves Commission in July 2011. From 2013-2016 he chaired the Commission's Audit and Risk Committee and the Finance Committee. On 1st July 2016, he assumed the role of Vice Chairman of the Commission.

Following on from a lengthy career in the Royal Navy, he became Chairman of the English Heritage Trust, which manages England's collection of over 400 historic buildings. He chairs two small property companies specialising in urban regeneration, as well as chairing the Major Projects Association - an organisation which aims to improve the way major projects are conducted in UK. He is a Trustee for RNLI, and has involvement in a few other charities.

Sir Tim enjoys most sporting and outdoor activities including sailing, the latter conducted mainly on the west coast of Scotland. He is married to HRH The Princess Royal and their home is in Gloucestershire.
