CWGC hands over £700 to help finish work at York Cemetery
04 October 2012
Our North East Regional Supervisor Stephen Liversage recently
travelled to York Cemetery to present a cheque for £700, on
behalf of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, to John Waterson
of The York Cemetery Trust.
The cheque was a direct contribution from the CWGC to the York
Cemetery Trust, which has a contract to maintain the site. The
money will help towards the completion of work being carried out on
the area around the Cross of Sacrifice which had fallen into
disrepair. York Cemetery contains 236 burials of the First and
Second World Wars.
