The Australian Prime Minister, Julia Gillard, has paid a visit
to the Kranji War Cemetery in Singapore.
She was accompanied by her partner, Tim Mathieson, Singapore's
Second Minister for Home Affairs and Trade & Industry, Mr. S
Iswaran, and Group Captain Brian Edwards, of the Australian
High Commission in Singapore.
Ms Gillard, who said the cemetery looked very
pretty, was also introduced to Mr George Smith, an Australian
veteran of the Second World War.
