The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visit Kranji War Cemetery

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have paid their respects at Kranji War Cemetery in Singapore.
It was their last enagagement in Singapore on their tour of the
far east, as part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations. They laid a
wreath on behalf of the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh at the
Singapore Memorial.
There are 4,461 Commonwealth casualties of the Second World
War buried or commemorated at Kranji.
The Singapore Memorial bears the names of more
than 24,000 servicemen and women from the Commonwealth who have no
known grave.
The Duchess travelled from Singapore to Malaysia, where she
gave her first speech on foreign soil, about the hospice
movement.
