Maintaining The Thiepval Memorial
15 November 2011
It's the biggest British battle memorial in the world and
commemorates over 73,000 casualties, most of whom died during the
First Battle of the Somme in 1916. The Thiepval Memorial also
requires constant care from War Graves Commission staff, to ensure
the fabric of this hugely important structure is in the best
condition possible. This film examines what is involved in
maintaining Thiepval.
