Etreux is a village and commune in the Department of the Aisne, 32 kilometres north-north-east of St Quentin and 20 kilometres west of La Capelle. The Communal Cemetery is 2 kilometres north of the village.
On the 27th August, 1914, Etreux was the scene of the Rearguard Affair of Etreux, in which the 2nd Royal Munster Fusiliers were overwhelmed, after a long resistance, by nine German battalions. There are 10 Commonwealth burials of the 1914-18 war commemorated in this site, 1 of which is unidentified..
