Husband of Irene Castle Tremain, of Ithaca, New York. Vernon and his wife, Irene, were a famous dancing team. Fred Astaire played the part of Vernon in the film, entitled "The Story of Vernon and Irene Castle" about the lives of the famous dancing pair.
