Son of Lieut.-Col. Brackley Herbert Barrington-Kennett, H.M. Body Guard, and Ellinor Frances Barrington-Kennett of 71 Onslow Gardens, South Kensington, London. Educated at Ludgrove School, Eton and Balliol College, Oxford. His brothers Basil Herbert and Aubrey Hampden Barrington-Kennett also fell.
