The British architect was born in 1870. He was involved with the Arts and Crafts movement and also a calligrapher. He designed Pozières Memorial, Prowse Point, Rifle House and Devonshire cemeteries. He served in the London Ambulance Brigade of Red Cross where he met the architect Charles Holden.
