Rededication service for Private John Anderson

A rededication service for Private John Anderson, of the 4th Battalion Gordon Highlanders, will be held at 2pm at the CWGC’s Birr Cross Roads Cemetery, Belgium.

Originally buried as an unknown soldier of the 4th Battalion Gordon Highlanders, he was killed in action on 28 May 1915, but through research his grave has now been identified. It is hoped his family will attend. Regimental support will be provided by the antecedent regiment, The Royal Regiment of Scotland.

Time to Remember

Nearly half a million people visited the CWGC Plymouth Naval Memorial to view the iconic sculpture Poppies: Wave, as it was fixed to a monument dedicated to remembering the war dead of the two world wars for the first time.
