A burial ceremony will be held at the CWGC’s Guillemont Road Cemetery, France at 11am for two soldiers.

Their bodies were found near the village of Guillemont, on the Somme. Unfortunately, after extensive research, it has not been possible to identify them.

It is known that one of the casualties was serving with the Connaught Rangers when he died. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission will mark his grave with a headstone bearing this detail. The unknown casualty’s headstone will commemorate him as a ‘Soldier of the Great War, Known unto God’.

The service will be attended by British Defence Staff, Regimental representatives, CWGC staff and local dignitaries. Members of the public are welcome to attend.
