First ANZAC event at CWGC site in Madagascar
Services are being held at CWGC sites around the world this week to mark ANZAC Day but, for the first time in living memory, there will be a ceremony in a remote and picturesque corner of the Indian Ocean.
A burial service for four Canadian First World War soldiers will take place at 13:30 at the Commonwealth War Graves Commission’s Loos British Cemetery in France.
To mark the end of the First World War Centenary, the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) has launched its “Road to Peace” project. The project tells 120 personal stories of casualties who died during the final 100 days of the First World War, from 8 August to 11 November.
