Today, the CWGC and the British Embassy in Rome have paid tribute to those who fought in the bloody fighting in Italy, in a special ceremony hosted at The Commonwealth War Graves Commission Cassino War Cemetery

The graves of two soldiers, whose names had previously been listed on Commonwealth War Graves Commission Memorials to the Missing, have been rededicated with new headstones bearing their names.

The following burial and rededication services are due to be held at CWGC Cemeteries in June 2019.

On 28 April 2019 the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) participated in the 19th edition of Heritage Day with the exhibition ‘A Century of Caring: a story told by artisans’ and live demonstrations near the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial. In light of this year’s theme ‘How do you make it?’ the CWGC showed visitors the unique craft of engraving.
