Brookwood Military Cemetery is the largest CWGC cemetery in the UK and is the final resting place of more than 5,000 service personnel. Brookwood: The Commonwealth Story is a new exhibition exploring the contribution made by the extraordinary Commonwealth community through the stories of a handful of those commemorated in the cemetery.

The exhibition summarises the incredible contribution of the Commonwealth nations of Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, South Africa and the UK; revealing the astonishing scale of their involvement.

A light is shone on each of the nations by centering in on the experience of a person. Every one of whom, died far away from home and are remembered in this small space in Surrey. Discover these incredible stories and pay respect to their memory at the graves and memorials on site.

The exhibition opens on 9 April 2018 and is housed in the Canadian Records Building.

Entry to the cemetery and exhibition is FREE.

However you can make a donation to the Commonwealth War Grave Foundation here. The Foundation helps to fund the education and public engagement work of the Commission, ensuring the memory of the 1.7 million commonwealth Forces who died in the First and Second World War is never forgotten.
