Robert was educated at Wrekin College, Shropshire from 1929 to 1934 becoming a House Prefect in his final year.

He joined the machine gun Regiment in 1938 and served for a brief period in Northern Ireland as a liaison officer to the United States Armed Forces upon their arrival in 1942.

He was injured as a result of an accident in October that year and then underwent an operation whilst on home leave in December 1942.

Subsequent periods of treatment were to no avail and Robert died on Friday 23rd April 1943 aged 27.

Son of Captain (ret’d) Robert H. Booth & Elsie Mary Booth of Marlow, Buckinghamshire. He is buried in Great Marlow (All Saints) Churchyard, Buckinghamshire.
