This letter was found in a box of items which was donated to the Fitzhugh Library, Co Durham. The box came from the Dent family of Low Nook Farm, Lunedale, North Yorkshire (now Co Durham). This farm is close to William Parkin's parent's home at High Cross Farm, Mickleton.

The letter refers to: in Pink condition...landed safely in France again...hopes to meet them for sheep clipping in the future...memories of outings with good mate JHWalton of Bail Green...rain and heat and cold...home newspaper talks of wounded soldiers in the home area...he hopes a girl has found a soldier...would like a few lines from friends...remember him to all his friends at clipping.
