Location information
Longueval is a village in the Department of the Aisne, Northern France, 25 kilometres south of Laon in the direction of Fismes. Take the D967 from Laon to Fismes, passing through the villages of Cerny-en-Laonnois and Bourg-et-Comin. Enter the village of Longueval-Barbonval and turn right after passing the church on your right. Follow this road around to the left, which leads to a parking area in front of the Cemetery. Pass through the main gate and walk up the central pass for 60 metres, where you will find the 3 plots to the right of the path.
History information
The British graves in the Communal Cemetery belonged to the 9th Lancers and were killed by the shelling of their billets at Longueval on the 29th September, 1914.
There are now nearly 20, 1914-18 war casualties commemorated in this site.
