Mount Hertzel (or Herzl) is one of the great hills of Jerusalem on the southern side of the city. The National Military Cemetery is located on the northern slope of the hill, within a large park which also contains a museum. The park is reached via Herzl Boulevard, which runs off Ruppin Road. It is the focal point of commemorative proceedings relating to the State of Israel and consequently, a very well known area.
