Location information

The Cemetery lies on the south side of the old city at Mount Zion, to the east of the tomb of David. Go up the hill from Yerushalayim Street and the cemetery is on the right hand side. The entrance is directly opposite the gate of the cemetery where Oskar Schindler is buried.

Visiting information

The cemetery gates are locked at all times. The attendant of the adjacent cemetery holds the keys to open the gates upon request. To arrange access please telephone the Regional Office on +972 (0) 89221220 between 8.30am and 1.30pm Monday to Friday, giving as much advance notice as possible.

History information

This civil cemetery contains the grave of one Commonwealth serviceman of the First World War, who died as a prisoner of war. The cemetery also contains the graves of 16 men of the Palestine Police. Ten of these are classified as war burials.
