Location information

The village of Barmby-on-the-Moor is in the East Riding, 14 miles South-East of York. The parish church of St. Catherine is on the main village road, on the South side of which two entrances lead to the church in the centre and the churchyard beyond. The War graves Plot is in the South-West area of the churchyard. Almost all of the burials are for the 1939-1945 War. A Cross of Sacrifice is erected in the churchyard.

History information

Barmby-on-the-Moor (St Catherine) Churchyard was used by the R.A.F. base at Pocklington, the aerodrome being only 2 km from the church. The churchyard contains the graves of 54 airmen of the Second World War. There is also one First World War burial.
