Location information

Folies is a village and commune in the Department of the Somme, on the North-East side of the straight main road from Amiens to Roye.

History information

Folies was the scene of fierce fighting in March 1918, and it was captured by the Canadian Corps in the following August. The communal cemetery, which was used also by French and German troops, contains the graves of two Commonwealth servicemen who died in August 1918. The extension, made by the Canadian troops in the same month, has been removed to Bouchoir New British Cemetery.
