20208 SERJEANT H.CLEVERLY
HAMPSHIRE REGIMENT
Date Of Death: 25th May 1917
Age: Unknown.

Lawn grave with a border.
Headstone is clean, legible, stable and free of damage or wear & tear.
The border is neat and tidy, free of detritus with spring/summer perennials starting to grow.
The lawn is flat, with no sign of sinkage.

* The only item to note about this grave, is the headstone inscription.
States he was a Hampshire soldier, but the crest is of the Gloucestershire Regiment.
The reason for this, was that SERJEANT Cleverly was trained as a Gloucester Regiment soldier, but was on secondment to the Hampshire Regiment when he met his death.
Hence, the clash of the crest with the Regiment served in at the time of his death.

Apart from this, there is nothing untoward with the grave.
