- Additional Info 3rd son of the late Thornton Scovell, Capt. 63rd Regt. (retired) and of Florence S. Scovell, of Stone Lodge, Ryde, Isle of Wight. Educated at St. Mark's School, Windsor, and the Royal Military Academy, Woolwich. Gazetted 23rd July, 1901. Promoted Capt. 23rd Jan., 1912. Asst. Instructor School of Military Engineering, Chatham, 1890 to 1913. Raised, organised and trained one of the first new Field Companies. Took part in the landing at Suvla Bay and fell while leading his men to reinforce Infantry against an attack.
