Tour of Brockenhurst Churchyard, Hampshire
As part of South Asian Heritage Month, join us to learn the stories of the men we commemorate across the South of England through tours at three locations. These tours will look at the work of the CWGC in commemorating these soldiers and those gave their lives in the First World War and Second World War.
South Asian Heritage Month (18th July to 17th August) seeks to commemorate, mark, and celebrate South Asian cultures, histories, and communities. The month seeks to understand the diverse heritage and cultures that continue to link the UK with South Asia.

Brockenhurst (St. Nicholas) Churchyard, New Forest

Due to its proximity to the port of Southampton, its railway connections and an abundance of large houses in the area, Brockenhurst was chosen in 1915 by the War Office to become a hospital centre. Initially, Lady Hardinge's Hospital (named after the wife of the Viceroy of India) for the Indian troops of the Lahore and Meerut Divisions was established south of the village. Join us to learn about the stories of the Indian soldiers commemorated here, and their close connections with the New Forest during the First World War.
