Location information

Travelling from Alberton on the R26 go past the Voortrekker Road turn off and take the R28 Roy Louw Road off-ramp, which leads into Beaconsfield Road. Follow this road and turn into the cemetery at the sign which indicates Show Grounds/ Abbatoir. There is a military plot with 23 graves and the rest are scattered, but, with three exceptions, all are in the same area and relatively easy to find.

History information

During the Second World War, No 22 Air Training School and a military hospital were established in Vereeniging. The Old Town Cemetery contains 48 Commonwealth burials of the Second World War.
