Location information
Shimla can be access by a daily flight from Delhi(currently not operational). Train service is available from Delhi till Kalka Station, which lies on the foothills, then a 4 hours road journey. Take the KUNLOG BYPASS when entering Simla from the National Highway. This bypass starts as an off-shoot from the Himachal Pradesh Tourist Office on the NH 22.The cemetery is near the fork which leads to CPRI(central potato research) and on a hairpin bend. There are two parts of this cemetery on the upper and lower parts of this road. The First World War graves are in the upper cemetery. The hairpin bend is about 600m from a Rotary Club cremation centre on the bypass road. The cemeteries originally existed together as one cemetery until the State Government constructed a bypass road through it and presumably many graves were lost and the access/entrance/steps to this cemetery was also lost.
