Gunner Sidney George Bailey 1885 - 1916

Sidney George Bailey was born in Newnham, Hampshire in 1885, the son of Charles and Louisa Bailey. In the 1911 census he is living with his widowed mother at the Cricket Green in Hartley Wintney, Hampshire and working as a tailor. In 1915 he married Gertrude Prior.
He served with the Royal Field Artillery as a Gunner and he died on the 6th October 1916. Sidney is buried at the Bulls Road Cemetery in France and remembered on the war memorial in Hartley Wintney, Hampshire.
