In 1891, Andrew McDougall Sneddon (Solicitor) b. 1857, Glasgow; his Wife, Jessie A. Sneddon, b. 1856, Glasgow; and their Daughter Jessie F. Sneddon, b. 1888, Perth; were living at: 6 Pitcullen Crescent, Kinnoull, Perth.

In 1901, the family were living at 4, Comely Bank, Kinnoull, Perth: Head, Andrew Mc D.; Wife, Sophia Elizabeth Beattie, b. 1862, Kirkcudbright, Kirkcudbrightshire; Daughter, Jessie F.; and Son, Andrew Beattie, b. 1899, Perth.

Andrew’s father Andrew McDougall Sneddon of Viewmount, Bellwood Park became a senior partner at Sneddon, Campbell and Munro (Solicitors). He was also a Justice of the Peace and Hon. Sheriff Substitute of Perth.

The London Gazette of 21st June 1917 reported that Cadet Andrew Beattie Sneddon was promoted to Temporary Second Lieutenant (Probationer) with the Royal Flying Corps, on the General List.

Andrew Sneddon was a part of 65 Training Squadron at the time of his death. He went missing aboard a B.E.2.e aeroplane at 4.50 pm on the 3rd October 1917, at Sedgeford, Kings Lynn, Norfolk. A Board of Inquiry concluded that he flew his aircraft out to sea, became confused about his position, crash landed in the North Sea and was drowned. He was 18 years old.

Andrew Sneddon is also commemorated on the Perth North Church War Memorial.
