Location information

By car from downtown Peterborough, access by George Street, turning on to Romaine Street, to Crescent Street. Main cemetery gates are at the junction of Crescent Street and Haggart Street.

Visiting information

The cemetery grounds are open for visitation from sunrise until sunset. The cemetery office is located across the street from the cemetery. It is open Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

History information

Peterborough is the county town of Peterborough County, and lies north-east of Toronto. During the 1939-1945 war there was a Canadian Army Basic Training Centre here. This was originally a training centre of the Non-Permanent Active Militia (roughly the equivalent of the Territorial Army of the United Kingdom) but was twice re-designated, becoming finally No. 32 Canadian Army Medical Corps (Basic) Training Centre. This cemetery is on the south-eastern shore of Little Lake, and contains war graves of both world wars. There are 27 burials of the 1914-1918 war. The 1939-1945 war burials number 15.
