History information

During the 1939-1945 War, Aylmer was the home of No. 14 Service Flying Training School. The cemetery, which is a Roman Catholic burial ground, is on the eastern side of Highway No. 73, 2 kilometres south of the town and contains the graves of 16 servicemen who died during the war. This total is made up by 6 men of the Royal Navy (Fleet Air Arm); 1 airman of the Royal Air Force; 2 soldiers and 2 airmen belonging to the Canadian forces and 5 airmen of the Royal Australian Air Force. There are also two 1914-1918 War graves here.
