The cemetery is located in St. Stephen north of Hayman Avenue, just east of the junction of Highways 725 and 735.

Visiting information

The cemetery is open to visitors 7 days a week, from dawn to dusk. It is staffed from 20th April to 10th November from 08:00 to 17:00.

History information

The cemetery was incorporated in April 1856 and covers 65 acres of land with over 11500 burials. There are over 20 kilometres of avenues and paths, all named after trees and plants.

The site contains the graves of several US Civil War veterans, including Brigadier-General John Curtis Caldwell, who was one of the eight generals to accompany the body of assassinated President Abraham Lincoln on its trip from Washington D.C to Lincoln's home in Springfield, Illinois.
