Access by car: When entering Owen Sound via Highway 6 & 10 turn left at the first lights (heading west on 6th Street East) to the very bottom of the hill. (The second set of lights after, turn 2nd Ave East) - Turn left onto 2nd Ave East to the top if the hill (2 kilometres) and enter the second entrance on the right to reach the office and other facilities.
Visiting information
The cemetery grounds are open 12 months a year, Monday to Friday from 08:00am to 16:00pm. All other times are by appointment.
The Mausoleum is opem 1st May - 7th September from 08:00am to 16:00pm.

History information
Greenwood Cemetery opened to the public in 1854. In 1927 a Mausoleum was constructed on the grounds. Its exterior is covered in Indiana limestone and the interior is finished with Italian marble. The Mausoleum features several beautiful stained glass windows and has a large centre chapel for use during the winter months.
A section of the cemetery west of the Mausoleum was developed and landscaped in 1962. Known as the Memorial Gardens, flowering crab trees and evergreen shrubs are planted throughout the section. A small cemetery chapel, which has most recently been used as a workshop and office, will be undergoing future restoration.
Owen Sound is proud to have three Victoria Cross recipients; Thomas Holmes, David Currie and William (Billy) Bishop.
Butchart family members who created Butchart Gardens in Victoria, BC and owned the Canada Cement Company at Shallow Lake, also rest in the cemetery.
