Son of Alfred William and Ellen Jane Ursell, of Waterloo House Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire. Also served as liason and intelligence Officer at Salonika. Mathematical Scholar of Balliol College, Oxford; first in the 1st Class Honours List.-Math. Mods. in 1913; was proxime accessit in the Univ. Junior School Exam., 1914.
