Historical Note

Special report - historical note Within this cemetery, 14 graves of the First World War were never individually marked. These casualties were instead commemorated by name on Ibadan Memorial. Work is now underway to see if any of these graves can be restored.

Location information

This public cemetery is in the Akwa area of Douala on the opposite side of the road from the Catholic Catherdral of Rue Joss. The Commission graves are in a single row of 26 headstones, set within a concrete covered plot on the left hand side, about 30 metres in from the entrance.

Visiting information

Douala Cemetery is open Monday to Friday between 06:00 and 18:00. Wheelchair access is possible via the main entrance.
