History information
A Canadian Army Service Corps Training Centre was set up at Red Deer during the 1939-1945 War. The cemetery contains Commonwealth war graves of both world wars, the majority of which are located in one plot. Most of the Second World War burials are those of airmen, most of whom lost their lives while training at No.36 Service Flying Training School which was established 16 km south of Red Deer. There are now a small number of 1914-1918 and over 30, 1939-1945 War casualties commemorated in this site.
