History information

The cemetery contains war graves of both world wars, all lying in different parts of the cemetery. A Cross of Sacrifice commemorating jointly the servicemen buried in this cemetery and in The East Cemetery was erected after the 1914-1918 War, and stands in the entrance to Gateshead East Cemetery. The cemetery covers an area of approximately 37 acres.
