Location information

The village of Finnevaux is located south of the town of Dinant on the N929. From the motorway E411/A4, which runs between Namur and Luxembourg, turn off at junction 22 onto the N94 in the direction of Dinant. Follow the N94 to the junction with the N929 and turn left here in the direction of Houyet/Finnevaux. The road into the village of Finnevaux is called rue de Forzee, and the cemetery is on the right of this road just past the water tower which is on the left. The grave is in the south-west corner of the cemetery.

History information

The British Expeditionary Force was involved in the later stages of the defence of Belgium following the German invasion in May 1940, and suffered many casualties in covering the withdrawal to Dunkirk. Finnevaux Communal Cemetery contains the grave of one airman of the Second World War.
