Location information

The Rakoskeresztur National Cemetery lies within the south western part of the city Budapest. From the city centre follow the signs to Ferighy Airport and Route 4. After 4.5 kilometres (second flyover)Route 4 will narrow to a dual carriageway. Do not take the dual carriageway but keep on Ullio ut and take the first left by the traffic light going under the dual carriage way into Koer utca. After about 500 metres (just over the railway track) take a right at the traffic lights into Gyomroi ucta. Continue along this road for about 1 kilometre and then turn left into Ujhegyi ut. After about 800 metres the cemetery will be directly in front of you. Cross the junction and drive through the main gates. There are five roads radiating from the entrance; take the second from the left and after about 400 metres there is the grave of Lieutenant Watney. It is a private memorial about 2.5 metres tall surmounted by a large cross. The grave is on a corner of plot 42, in row 1, grave 1 and is almost opposite a small Polish military plot.
