The village of Ijlst is about 22 kilometres north-west of Heerenveen, 30 kilometres south-south-west of Leeuwarden and 5 kilometres south-west of Sneek. The cemetery is about 150 metres from the church, on the south-eastern outskirts of the village. Close to the entrance are the graves of 2 Canadian airmen.
